This vehicle scored 36.10 out of 42 points. The Arteon has an 'active' bonnet. Sensors in the bumper detect when a pedestrian has been struck and actuators lift the bonnet, providing greater clearance to hard structures in the engine compartment. Protection was ‘Good’ or ‘Adequate’ over almost the entire surface of the bonnet. The bumper provided ‘Good’ protection to the legs of struck pedestrians and the pelvis area. The autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system can detect pedestrians and performed well in testing. (Tested by Euro NCAP v8.3)
Pedestrian Rating Explained
